Garage Monjoie
This is the Garage Monjoie in Stavelot (picture-above), a few kilometres away from the Spa-Francorchamps race track, a very busy place indeed, ahead of the 1961 Belgian Formula One Grand Prix. Magical view on the “Sharknose” Ferraris 156 of Wolfgang von Trips (2), Phil Hill (4), Olivier Gendebien (8) and Richie Ginther (6) that are being prepared for the race.
The race was completely dominated by the Scuderia Ferrari, with the four works drivers finishing 1-2-3-4. Phil Hill beating Wolfgang von Trips by 0.7s only while Richie Ginther and local favourite Olivier Gendebien followed in third and fourth. This was the last time any constructor achieved this score in a F1 race.
Of the four works 156’s three were painted in the traditional rosso corsa, the national racing colour of Italy, while Gendebien’s car was in Belgian racing yellow (picture below).
