Fast and well-driven
Graham Hill is breaking hard in his superb BRM P261 at the La Source hairpin during the 1965 Belgian Grand Prix held at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit (picture above).
The BRM P261, is a Formula One car designed by Tony Rudd for the British Racing Motors team in Bourne, England. The P261 had a relatively long racing career, variants of the car were still being entered in Grand Prix as late as 1968.
During the course of its front-line career, the BRM P261’s won six Grand Prix, in the hands of works drivers Graham Hill and Jackie Stewart, and finished second in both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championship standings in 1964 and 1965.
At this 1965 Belgian Grand Prix, Graham Hill qualified P261 in pole position and finished in 5th in the race, one lap down on winner Jim Clark (Lotus).
