The 1947 Belgian Grand Prix was held at the 14 km Spa-Francorchamps circuit. The race was also known as the European Grand Prix.
Picture above: Italian Achille Varzi leads Frenchman Jean-Pierre Wimille in the early stages of the race, both driving an Alfa Romeo 158. The French driver will win the three hours race and Varzi will finish second, one lap down.
