The moment David Donohue (picture above) became back-to-back TA1 champion, set a new TA1 record AND the record for fastest Porsche to ever race to the top of the Pikes Peak!
David Donohue (born 5 January 1967), the son of racing legend Mark Donohue, is an American race car driver, formerly active in the Grand-Am’s Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototype class and participant in the Pikes Peak races.
Almost exactly 40 years after his father won the 24 Hours of Daytona in a Lola T70-Chevrolet, David won the event 2009 event (picture below), driving a Brumos Riley MK XI-Porsche, teamed with Antonio Garcia, Darren Law and Buddy Rice.
David Donohue scored back-to-back victories (2022-2023) in his class, in the famous Pikes Peak hillclimb, driving a Brumos-entered Porsche GT2 RS Clubsport, featuring the famous #59. His way to write history, like his late father did.
