Alan Rees didn’t have the looks of a car racing champion, but was an excellent driver in the 60s indeed, essentially in F2 and in sports cars, while taking ninth place in his only Formula One Grand Prix, at home in 1967 at Silverstone in a Cooper-Maserati (picture here-above).
He will then jump to the other side of the barrier, by co-founding March Engineering with Max Mosley, Graham Coaker and Robin Herd (picture here-under), and later Team Shadow before founding Arrows with his buddy Jackie Oliver.
