Dieudonné tackles the Brits
Pierre Dieudonné pushes his March 743-Toyota Novamotor F3 entered by Dr. Joseph Ehrlich, towards the starting grid (photo above) of the 1976 Zolder Grand Prix counting towards the BP British F3 Championship.
For this round run on the Zolder circuit, we note the presence of several Belgian drivers at the start, as Pierre Dieudonné (DNF) is joined by Pascal Witmeur (6th) on a private March 753-Toyota and Claude Crespin (8th) at the wheel of a Van Diemen VG376-Toyota in BP colours.
However, it was the Englishman Rupert Keegan who, after the two heats, won the event at the wheel of his March 743-Toyota Novamotor in the colours of British Air Ferries (photo here-under), his father’s company, ahead of the Dutchman Boy Hayje in a Ralt RT1/76-Toyota. Both drivers will later have a brief F1 career.
