The 1974 European Formula 2 season was dominated by French ace Patrick Depailler. The works March 742-BMW’s were the cars to beat, and Depailler took 5 victories and the title, to 3 wins for team-mate Hans-Joachim Stuck, his closest opponent.

The level of the drivers competing in this 1974 Formula 2 championship was very high, with the likes of Laffite, Jabouille, Purley, Leclerc and Tambay following in the standings.
Busy schedule for Depailler who raced the Formula 1 season as well this year, doing a great job driving for the ELF-sponsored Tyrrell team (picture below).
