Anny Charlotte Verney sits confidently on the front wing of her Porsche 911 Carrera RS, which she shares with Yvette Fontaine and Corinne Tarnaud, before the 1975 24 Hours of Le Mans. This all-female crew will finish 11th overall and 2nd in the GT class.

The Frenchwoman, born on May 17, 1943, is a former circuit and rally driver. She has ten participations in the 24 Hours of Le Mans to her credit (from 1974 to 1983), with her best result being a sixth place overall in 1981, and a GT class victory in 1978.

Rally driver Anny Charlotte Verney also took part in the Paris-Dakar in 1982, with Mark Thatcher, the son of the British Prime Minister, as co-driver and navigator. They made headlines when they got lost in the desert for five days at the wheel of their Peugeot 504, before being rescued by the military!
