Boutsen didn’t know!

In 1978, Thierry Boutsen has one outing in this FF2000 Reynard at Zandvoort. A new sponsor ‘Jan Bik’ appears on the side of his single-seater. After a little research, it turns to be the name of a ‘sex club’ in Amsterdam. Questioned about this, Thierry answered me: “It’s so funny, believe it or not, at the time, I had no clue.”

Note: On this picture, Boutsen’s helmet bears the same design as his mentors’ at the time, Jacky Ickx, but soon, after falling out with Ickx, Thierry choose, it certainly was the right decision for him, to have his own colours on his helmet.
