Picture above: American Masten Gregory in the Behra-Porsche at the 1960 Argentinian Grand Prix held at the Autodromo de Buenos Aires.
The Behra-Porsche, was imagined in 1959 by French racing driver Jean Behra and designer Valerio Colotti, using components from a Porsche 718 RSK sports car.
It was never properly developed following Behra’s death in a sportscar race at the Avus circuit in 1959. After his death, the car was bought by the American Camoradi team, in whose colours it is seen here being driven by Masten Gregory.
Bruce McLaren (picture below) won the race in a Cooper-Climax, while Masten Gregory finished in 12th position, 4 laps down.
