The 2007 Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship was won by Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen by one point in the final race of the season, making Raikkonen the third Finnish driver after Keke Rosberg in 1982 and Mika Hakkinen in 1998 and 1999, to take the title.

Raikkonen entered the final race in third position in the drivers’ standings, and with the help of teammate Massa, who offered him the win in Brazil, emerged as champion after the checkered flag (picture below), beating the two McLaren drivers Hamilton and Alonso by just one point.

But did becoming a world champion change Raikkonen at all? Kimi: “I don’t think my life changed. I think people probably looked at me differently. They were asking different questions and they expected different things, but I didn’t feel my life itself changed. But why should it change?”
