Dominant and indisputable

Max Verstappen‘s drive at Suzuka, on a rain-soaked track, was a perfect reflection of his season. Peerless. Impressive. In a class of his own in 2022. Tenth victory of the year. And still counting.

His drive reminded me of some of the greatest performances in the sports history. Max defended well against Leclerc after an average start: he braked late, very late on a very wet track and passed the Ferrari driver on the… outside of turn 1. Fantastic and very ballsy. He then was about one second a lap quicker than anyone else, and after 28 flawless laps, finished 28 seconds ahead of team mate Pérez. Utterly dominant.

When the conditions are difficult, exceptional champions like Ayrton Senna , like Michael Schumacher, like Max Verstappen make the difference. While controversy may have clouted his first, his follow up has been dominant and indisputable.
