French racing driver Philippe Alliot was born on 27 July 1954 in Voves (France), and has recently turned 70. He raced in Formula 1 for nine seasons and 109 Grand Prix starts between 1984 and 1994, as well as in ten editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where he finished third overall, three times.

Alliot lived his passion for racing intensively and has done quite a few miles. The Frenchman delivers here, an autobiographic interview book written by Gauthier Calmels, a very nice publication (in French, hopefully we’ll get an English version soon), retracing with honesty, humour and humility, the highs and the lows of his career, the people he met along the way, and his successes.

I warmly recommend this book because we learn so much about my friend Philippe’s career, his life and also his combats. A testimony of an heroic period, because ho so dangerous, of motor racing at the highest level, and so fascinating. A must, this little book.
