Peter Collins (6 November 1931 – 3 August 1958) was a British racing driver. He started his career as a 17-year old in 1949, impressing in Formula 3 races and then advancing into Sports Car racing and Formula 1.
He won three Formula One Grand Prix for Ferrari from 32 starts and stood 9 times on the podium, won 4 non-championship F1 races, a Targa Florio, a Sebring 12 Hours (1958) and was twice second at the Le Mans 24 Hours (1955-1956).
He finished third at the 1958 Monaco Grand Prix in his Ferrari 246 (picture above), and sadly was killed 10 weeks later at the age of 26 during the German Grand Prix at the Nürburgring.
