Felipe Nasr

Felipe Nasr, born 21 August 1992,  drove in Formula 1 for the Sauber team in 2015 and 2016. In his first race in Australia, Nasr finished in a superb fifth position, holding off Ricciardo in a Red Bull, the highest ever placing for a Brazilian driver on his Grand Prix debut.

Nasr ended his debut F1 season with 27 points, compared to the 9 points scored by his more experienced team mate Marcus Ericsson.

For two season, Felipe Nasr brought the bulk of the results (points) needed for the financially struggling Sauber, but was replaced for the 2017 season by Pascal Wehrlein. I took this picture above at the pre-season test at Barcelona, early 2015. We are still friends to this day.
