Belgian driver Hervé Regout concentrates before taking the wheel of his Chevron B42-Hart F2 at the Silverstone circuit, where a round of the 1979 Aurora AFX British F1 championship is being held. Just behind him is Pierre Van Vliet, a journalist for Auto-Hebdo magazine.

Regout will finish fifteenth and third in F2, but he is not the only Belgian at the start; his friend Bernard de Dryver will finish ninth in his Formula 1 Fittipaldi F5A Cosworth, because it should be noted that this championship welcomed both F1 and F2 single-seaters.

Hervé Regout, born on November 4, 1952, also participated nine times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Alongside Jean-Claude Andruet and Claude Ballot-Léna, he won the IMSA GTX class in 1981 in a Ferrari 512BB/LM (photo below) and finished third overall in 1987 with Pierre-Henri Raphanel and Yves Courage, in a Courage C20.
