Pretty starting grid at the 1970 Pau Grand Prix. On the front row we have, from left to right: Jochen Rindt in pole position on his Lotus 69, with François Mazet and Jack Brabham at the wheel of Brabhams BT30 alongside him.

Nice performance for Mazet, who, in the presence of Pescarolo, Jabouille, Cevert, Beltoise… is the fastest French driver, here in the streets of Pau.

The green helmet in the second row is that of Henri Pescarolo, also in a Brabham BT30, alongside Clay Regazzoni and his Tecno 69. All these single-seaters are powered by the Ford FVA.

Jochen Rindt, now a Lotus’s F1 driver, will once again win in F2 in this event counting towards the 1970 European Championship, this time ahead of Henri Pescarolo and the Australian Tim Schenken, driving Brabham BT30s.
