After making his Formula 1 debut at the 1970 Monaco Grand Prix in a March 701 entered by Colin Crabbe with factory support, Ronnie Peterson joined the March team for the 1971 season, immediately made a big impression, reached the podium five times, and finished second in the championship behind the untouchable Jackie Stewart (Tyrrell).

That same 1971 year, Peterson raced in the World Endurance Championship with the Autodelta Alfa Romeo team, with which he won the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen (picture below), and therefore also the 1000 km of Barcelona in a Lola, which counted towards the Spanish Endurance Championship.
