Jacques Laffite and his mechanics push the Ligier JS5-Matra into the pit lane at Anderstorp, where the 1976 Swedish Grand Prix will be held (photo above). Note the Walter Wolf Racing service truck, which has entered Frenchman Michel Leclère.

This race saw the one and only victory for the famous six-wheeled Tyrrell P34-Ford. Jody Scheckter won from pole, 19 seconds ahead of his Tyrrell teammate Patrick Depailler, while Jacques Laffite, who qualified seventh, confirmed the progress of his Ligier JS5 by finishing fourth, just behind Niki Lauda’s Ferrari.

Michel Leclère and his Wolf (née Hesketh) only made it past the 20th lap when his Cosworth engine gave up the ghost. This race also saw the Formula 1 debut of Dane Jac Nellemann, who failed to qualify his privately-entered Brabham BT44 (picture-below).
