Thierry Boutsen tests the Brabham

The young and promising Thierry Boutsen is invited to test a Brabham at Le Castellet end of 1981. Other drivers tested that day: Manfred Winkelhock, Corrado Fabi and… Jacky Ickx who was invited by Bernie Ecclestone himself. If anyone knows who did the best lap times that day, please do not hesitate to let us know.

The Belgian would make his Grand Prix debut with Arrows, at the 1983 Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps. In 163 F1 starts : 3 victories, 15 podiums, 1 pole, 1 fastest lap. He drove in F1 for : Arrows, Benetton, Williams-Renault, Ligier and Jordan.
