Rick Mears: “Achieving my dreams”

Rick Mears, born 3 December 1951, known by the nickname “Rocket Rick”, is a former American race car driver. He is one of three men to win the Indianapolis 500 four times and is the current record-holder for pole positions in the race with six.

Nowadays the American still works for Team Penske as a consultant and as a coach for the drivers, his input being invaluable.

Four times Indy 500 winner: 1979, 1984, 1988, 1991. A record six poles at Indy 500. IndyCar Series champion : 1979, 1981, 1982.
