Philippe Streiff (1955-2022) was a French racing driver. After shining in Formula 2, he participated in 55 Formula One Grand Prix, debuting at the 1984 Portuguese Grand Prix in a Renault. He achieved one F1 podium in a Ligier, and scored a total of 11 championship points.

In 1985, Streiff participated in four Grand Prix with Ligier, achieved one podium finish in Australia before moving to Tyrrell, when he was called as a replacement for the regretted Stefan Bellof. He stayed with Ken Tyrrell for two more season, (picture below taken at Kyalami in 1985) and in 1988 moved to the French AGS team, he knew so well from his Formula 2 days.

Sadly, a pre-season testing crash at the Jacarepaguá circuit in Rio de Janeiro in 1989 with AGS left him a quadriplegic. The impact was so strong that even the roll-bar broke on impact. Streiff, very courageously, in a wheelchair, later organised the Masters Karting Paris Bercy. He passed away aged 67.
