The 1986 edition of the 12 Hours of Sebring was won by the Bob Akin Motor Racing #5 Porsche 962 driven by Bob Akin, Hans Joachim Stuck and Jo Gartner (picture above).
The Holbert Racing-entered Porsche 962 of Al Holbert, Derek Bell and Al Unser Jr. was the fastest of the 962’s, but was delayed with mechanical issues and finished third.
Hans Joachim Stück and Jo Gartner drove a steady race in their Coca-Cola livered Porsche (picture below), and helped by team owner Bob Akin, took a well-deserved victory.
