Jackie Oliver, born 11 August 1942, is a British former Formula 1 and sports cars driver and former owner of the Arrows Formula 1 team. He won the 1969 Le Mans 24 Hours (picture above) and the Sebring 12 Hours with Belgian Jacky Ickx at the wheel of a works John Wyer entered Ford GT40.
His Arrows team would become famous for competing in a record 382 Grand Prix without achieving a single victory (although coming very close a couple of times). His team gave their F1 breaks to talented drivers like Riccardo Patrese, Thierry Boutsen, Gerhard Berger, Marc Surer and many others would drive for the team early in their career.
Jackie Oliver also won the Can-Am series for Don Nichols’ Shadow team in 1974 (picture below).
