Greg Moore (1975-1999) was an excellent Canadian racing car driver who competed in the CART series from 1996 to 1999. During these 4 years at the top of North-American racing, he scored 5 wins, 17 podiums and 5 pole positions.

The Canadian began racing in karting at the age of 10 and achieved early success, before progressing to open-wheel car racing in the Canadian Formula Ford Championship in 1991.

Moore then advanced to the Indy Light Championship and won the series in 1995. By doing so, he caught the eyes of the CART team owners. He began competing in CART with Forsythe Racing in 1996 and from 1997 on, Greg was a regular front-runner, and he finished fifth, with two wins, in the 1998 standings.

In 1999, sadly, at the season-ending Marlboro 500 at California Speedway, Greg Moore was killed in a violent airborne collision with a concrete barrier. It was scheduled to be Moore’s final race for Forsythe Racing: he had decided to join Team Penske in 2000.
