Teddy Pilette in his VDS-entered Chevron B28 at the 1974 F5000 Grand Prix held at Zolder (picture-above). The Belgian will retire with mechanical issues and his team mate Peter Gethin in an identical car, will win the race. Notice the picture of Jacky Ickx in the background.

The VDS team, founded by Count Rodolphe van der Straten Ponthoz, was a successful team in Formula 5000 racing, winning two F5000 British titles and one F5000 Tasman title. They later achieved more success with their own-designed car, the VDS 001, winning the Can-Am title.
