Oscar Larrauri was on the attack during practice (photo above), and managed the feat of qualifying his modest Eurobrun ER188 for the 1988 Monaco Grand Prix in 18th position out of 30 entries (!). Unfortunately, he had no luck in the race, as the Argentinian was forced to retire on lap 14 due to brake failure.

Oscar Rubén Larrauri, born on August 19, 1954, is an Argentinian racing driver. He participated in 21 Formula One Grands Prix for the Eurobrun team in 1988 and 1989, but only managed to qualify eight times and did not score any championship points. An excellent endurance driver, he drove a Lancia LC1 in 1983 then joined the Brun Motorsport team in 1984, where he drove Porsche 956s and 962s, remained loyal to this team until 1991 and finished second in the 1986 24 Hours of Le Mans, with Joël Gouhier and Jesus Pareja.
