With the backing of Motul and GPA, French racing car driver Philippe Streiff contested the 1982 European Formula 2 Championship for the French AGS team. He showed promise and finished sixth in the standings, with podiums at Vallelunga in Italy and Mantorp Park in Sweden (picture above).

Philippe Streiff (1955-2022) was a French racing driver. He participated in 55 Formula One Grand Prix between 1984 to 1988 for the Renault, Ligier, Tyrrell and AGS teams. He achieved one podium, and scored a total of 11 championship points.

Sadly, a pre-season F1 testing crash at the Jacarepagua circuit in Rio de Janeiro in 1989 with AGS, left him quadriplegic and thus using a wheelchair. He scored his only F1 podium in 1985 with Ligier in the Australian Grand Prix at Adelaide (picture below).
