Scarabs in town

British journalist Peter Windsor comments the picture above: “I love this shot of the two Scarabs in their Monaco garage in 1960. Indeed, I love the concept in general of F1 teams using garages all over town – a policy Liberty should definitely adopt.”
This rare picture is beautiful indeed, showing times long gone, times where the teams were run by just a few people and had one truck only to transport cars and spare parts. We understand Peter Windsor’s words were both gently ironic and certainly very nostalgic.
We see here-below the single-seaters of Americans Lance Reventlow and Chuck Daigh in the pitlane prior to qualifying, but both cars failed to qualify for the 1960 Monaco Grand Prix.
