Parnelli Jones likes challenges

Parnelli Jones (picture above), driving a Watson Roadster, is the winner of the 1963 Indianapolis 500. Jim Clark (Lotus-Ford) finishes second and A.J.Foyt, third. For P.J. Jones, this will be the only victory on the famous Indiana Speedway.

Parnelli Jones also raced in NASCAR (picture below) but never in Formula 1. He said: “I would have liked to run Formula 1 under the right circumstances. That’s the one thing I didn’t do. I’m the kind of guy who likes to see what’s on the other side of the hill. I like that challenge out there.”
