Audi Sport Team Joest scored a perfect 1-2-3 at the 2000 Le Mans 24 Hours. Winners were Frank Biela, Tom Kristensen and Emanuele Pirro in their Audi R8 3.6L Turbo V8.

World title number 4

Duez and Mazda
Belgian Marc Duez at the 1981 Spa 24 Hours. He will finish fifth in a Tom Walkinshaw Racing-entered Mazda RX-7. The race was won by the sister car of fellow Belgian Pierre Dieudonné and team-owner Tom Walkinshaw, in the leading Mazda RX-7 (picture below).

Lewis takes his fourth
Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) won his fourth Drivers’ Championship in 2017 with nine Grand Prix victories while Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) was a distant second with 5 victories. Mercedes retained the Constructors’ Championship for a fourth consecutive year with the W08 EQ Power+ entered in 2017.
