Midget sensation

At the age of 23, Mario Andretti scored 3 different Midget victories at two different tracks: Flemington, New Jersey and the twin race at Hatfield, Pennsylvania, in the same car on Labour Day in 1963. The Andretti legend was born.

Andretti raced midget cars from 1961 to 1963 and won dozens of them. He raced in over one hundred events (!) in 1963, before moving to other race categories in the US and abroad, enjoying tremendous success.
