Gérard Larrousse (picture-above) powers by in his International Martini Racing Team-entered Porsche 908/03 during the 1971 Targa Florio. We always enjoy looking at these wonderful pictures, illustrating the legendary race held in Sicily. Larrousse and Elford were amongst the favourites in 1971 in their works Porsche, but were forced to retire, after an accident on lap 7.
Autodelta entered two Alfa Romeo’s T33/3 for local hero, driver-school teacher Nino Vaccarella and Toine Hezemans in the #5, while Andrea de Adamich and Gijs van Lennep shared #2 (picture-below). Both cars were fast and reliable and scored a prestigious 1-2, in this order, for the Italian marque.
