Brian Redman is ready to take to the track in his Lola T332C, during the F5000 championship round run at Road America circuit, Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin in 1976.

The Englishman, who raced in Formula 1, endurance (with Porsche and Ferrari) and Can-Am, won the highly contested and spectacular Formula 5000 championship in 1974, 1975 and 1976 driving Lola single-seaters entered by Carl Haas Racing.

Always competitive on this Road America circuit, he won this race in 1973, beating Jody Scheckter after a fierce battle, and in 1975 after a duel with Al Unser Sr. Always positive, Brian Redman once declared: “You don’t necessarily have to win a race to be satisfied, as long as you’ve given your absolute all, whether you finish first or last, you get a tremendous feeling of well-being after a race.”
