Ian Scheckter, born 22 August 1947, is a former racing driver from South-Africa and the elder brother of F1 1979 World Champion Jody Scheckter. He participated in 20 Formula One Grand Prix between 1974 and 1977 but failed to score a point.
Securing enough funds from Rothmans for a full season with the March works F1 team in 1977, his results were disappointing, due to the fact that, in some races, Team March had up to five drivers signed, lacking resources to provide adequately for them all.
Best result was 10th at Zandvoort in a works March 771-Cosworth.
