Emerson in a Porsche!

The double Formula 1 World Champion and double Indy 500 winner Emerson Fittipaldi has rarely driven outside single-seaters’ races. Nevertheless, in January 1971, he participated in the 1000 kms of Buenos Aires in a Porsche 917 (picture above) paired with local hero Carlos Reutemann, long before the two men raced each other in Grand Prix.

One will also remember that the popular “Emmo” participated in an Interserie race at the great Nürburgring in 1974, at the wheel of a powerful Porsche 917-10, seen here at the famous Karussell corner (picture below).
