Choosing Lewis Hamilton as our Driver of the Year, was quite easy. The Brit’s record, with 11 victories and 6 podium finishes in 21 races, is a very impressive achievement.
Was it easy ? Certainly not. Fierce competition came from ever improving team mate Bottas, from the phenomenal Verstappen in the Red Bull-Honda always ready to bounce, and from the Ferrari duo, with the young and very promising Leclerc showing his tremendous speed and the experienced Vettel always a factor.
Of course, nothing would have been possible without the fantastic performance and reliability achieved by AMG-Mercedes’ mighty winning organization led by Toto Wolff, but Lewis made great use of it to clinch his 6th World Title in style.
Well done champion.
