Chico Serra is a racing driver from Brazil. When he won the 1979 British Formula 3 championship, many observers were convinced he was a champion in the making. Ron Dennis certainly thought he was the real deal and gave Serra a lot of support. But he never got the breaks to make it big in Formula 1, starting 18 Grand Prix for the uncompetitive Fittipaldi and Arrows teams.

Serra scored one championship point, finishing sixth in the 1982 Belgian Grand Prix at Zolder, driving the Fittipaldi F8D. Chico Serra has then participated in the Brazilian stock car championship since the 1980’s and was series champion in 1999, 2000 and 2001.
