Australian Warwick Brown, pictured above at the wheel of his Lola-Chevy T332 F5000, at Teretonga in New Zealand in 1974. The following year, driving the same car, Brown won the New Zealand Grand Prix at Pukekohe, lapping all his rivals! He recently said: “Those cars were monsters. We had to switch our brains off and not think about it. Just go for it, flat out!”

Warwick Brown participated in a Formula One Grand Prix driving a Wolf-Williams at the 1976 US Grand Prix and finished 14th after losing two gears during the race. Not easy to impress, in these conditions.

The Australian would find more success in the Tasman series, which he won in 1975 driving a Lola T332-Chevrolet. He would also be seen at the front of the pack in the SCCA/USAC Formula 5000 championship in North America from 1974 to 1976 and finish second behind Alan Jones in the 1978 Can-Am championship driving a Lola T333CS-Chevrolet for the VDS Team (photo below).
