The Silver Arrows of the glorious times of the Titans, at the end of the 1930’s, were monsters that had to be tamed with dexterity, thus the aggressive settings adopted by Tazio Nuvolari on his Auto Union, necessary to win the 1938 Donington Grand Prix (picture above).
Local hero Richard Seaman finished third for Mercedes, behind his team mate Hermann Lang, after a long duel with the other Auto-Union driven by Hermann Müller (picture below).
