Vergne has to perform

Jean-Éric Vergne qualified 12th for the 2014 Singapore Grand Prix, two places behind team-mate Daniil Kvyat. His seat in the Toro Rosso team was in danger, he had to post a good result.The Frenchman drove a solid race and brought his Toro Rosso home in a good 6th position.

Unfortunately for Vergne, it was not enough to convince Dr. Marko to keep him, and he lost his seat for 2015 to a 17 years old kid called… Max Verstappen.

I had travelled from Hong Kong (where I was for business) to Singapore to cover the race for F1i. I knew JEV quite well and I was one the first ones to congratulate him (and interview him), for his solid race, as soon as he got out of the car (picture above).
