Snider and his Mongoose
George Snider, pictured above in his elegant Mongoose-Ford V8 entered by Vel’s Parnelli Jones, looks ready to go for it, before qualifying for the 1968 Indianapolis 500. The American driver will qualify in the middle of the tenth row, far behind pole man Joe Leonard, and will finish 31st.
George Lee Snider III, born December 8, 1940, in California, is a former race car driver who participated in the Indianapolis 500 22 times, without ever winning.
