Brian Redman, above at the wheel of the impressive NART Ferrari 712M during the Can-Am (North American) Championship round at Watkins Glen in 1974. Sadly, the Briton was forced to retire after 14 race laps.
This race, held on July 14, 1974, was nevertheless dominated by the UOP Shadow DN4-Chevrolet cars. Jackie Oliver won ahead of his teammate George Follmer, confirming the superiority of the black cars.
Of note was the presence of Brian Redman in a NART Ferrari 712M, Mike Brockman driving a private McLaren M8C, Herbert Muller in his Ferrari 512M Spyder and Arturo Merzario in an Alfa Romeo T33/TT12 entered by… Otto Zipper Alfa Racing.
