During the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2011, Kronos Racing entered a Lola-Aston Martin which was shared by Vanina Ickx with the Marc VDS team drivers, Bas Leinders and rookie Maxime Martin.
The Belgian trio finished seventh overall and second in the private LMP1 class behind the winning Audi R18 of Lotterer-Treluyer-Fassler, four Peugeot 908 HDi cars and the Rebellion-Toyota.
I was assisting Marc Van Dalen, the Kronos manager, in this adventure and when returning to our motorhome to rest at night we could follow “our” car by ear, the beautiful #22 being the only one powered by a naturally aspirated V12 engine!
