Here we go again!

We remember the legendary duel between Jacky Ickx’s Ford GT40 and Hans Herrmann’s Porsche 908 at the 1969 24 Hours of Le Mans (photo above, taken from an original angle in the Hunaudières) which turned in favour of the young Belgian ahead of the German veteran.

A few weeks later, the two men met again for another 24 Hours race at Spa as teammates driving a large Mercedes 300 SEL 6.3 litre sedan (photo below), but the car was withdrawn from the event after suffering several high-speed punctures during practice.
