Argentinian Ricardo Zunino celebrates his first (and only) victory in his Charles Clowes Racing Arrows A1 (pictured above and under) at the Brands Hatch round of the British Aurora Formula 1 Championship. Englishman Guy Edwards can be seen on the podium alongside him.

After having learned the ropes in Formula 2 for three seasons (1977-1978-1979) at the wheel of a factory March, no victories, but a few top 5 finishes, Ricardo Zunino entered the British Formula 1 championship, one victory and three podiums, before being invited by Bernie Ecclestone, to participate at short notice with Brabham, in the Canadian and US Grand Prix, replacing Niki Lauda, who suddenly decided to retire!

Zunino was retained for the 1980 season alongside Nelson Piquet, but due to poor results, he was replaced at the French Grand Prix by Mexican Héctor Rebaque. Back in Argentina, Zunino became a two-time Turismo Nacional champion in a Fiat.
