Dieter Quester and Jacky Ickx were teammates at BMW in Formula 2 in 1970 and certainly discussed the settings of their single-seaters (photo above, the Belgian at the wheel), during the round held at Enna-Pergusa in Sicily.

Three BMW F270s were actually entered by the factory for Jo Siffert (March driver in F1 and Porsche in endurance), for Jacky Ickx (although Ferrari driver in F1 and endurance) and for the in-house driver, the Austrian Dieter Quester, a great specialist in BMW touring cars.

However, it was Clay Regazzoni, Jacky Ickx’s young teammate at Ferrari in F1, and soon to be winner of the 1970 Italian Grand Prix at Monza, who would win here at Enna-Pergusa, at the wheel of his Tecno 71-Cosworth FVA (picture below), ahead of the two BMWs of Jo Siffert (second) and Jacky Ickx (third).
