Graham Hill begins his victory lap in his Lotus 49-Ford at the 1969 Monaco Grand Prix, which he has just won (pictured above). With this victory, Graham Hill, who is the reigning world champion, comes within three points of championship leader Jackie Stewart (Matra).
It was the third of 11 rounds of the World Championship, and the 80-lap race was won by Graham Hill (Lotus), who started from fourth on the grid. For Hill, it was his 14th and final Grand Prix victory, and his record fifth in the Principality.
Piers Courage finished second (his best career result) in a Brabham entered by Frank Williams (pictured below) with Jo Siffert third in a Rob Walker-entered Lotus.
