Two McLaren M7C’s were entered by private teams in most of the races of the 1970 Formula One World Championship, while the factory team fielded the new M14A.

Team Surtees had a red McLaren M7C for team owner John Surtees (picture-above taken by Bernard Cahier) in 11 races, while Derek Bell drove one of Surtees M7C’s at the US Grand Prix.

John Surtees finished sixth in Holland (Zandvoort) and fifth in Canada (Mont-Tremblant), while Bell did well to score one point (6th) in his only outing for Team Surtees at Watkins Glen.

Écurie Bonnier fielded a yellow M7C for Jo Bonnier (picture-below) in Italy (Monza) and in the United Stated (Watkins Glen), but the Swede failed to impress with one DNQ and one retirement.
