Daniil Kvyat is sitting in his Toro Rosso STR11 (picture above) ahead of qualifying for the 2016 Austrian Grand Prix held at the Red Bull Ring. It was not a good week-end for the Russian who qualified in 20th position and was forced to retire on lap 2 because of a technical issue.

The Russian starts this 2016 season as a Red Bull Racing driver alongside Daniel Ricciardo, but after four races and a podium in China, he’s replaced by young (17) Max Verstappen, and is forced to continue the season with Toro Rosso, alongside Carlos Sainz.

Daniil Kvyat, born 26 April 1994, is a Russian racing driver competing under an Italian licence for Lamborghini Iron Lynx in the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship. Kvyat competed in Formula One between 2014-2017 and 2019-2020 for Toro Rosso, Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri.

He became the second Formula One driver from Russia and is the most successful of the four Russians to date, with three podiums. Daniil Kvyat scored a total of 202 championship points in 110 F1 starts.
